Job Description
The Role
The Adoptions Specialist schedule will be, 4 10-hour shifts, Wednesday-Saturday. As an Adoptions Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing excellent customer care.
- Completing adoption paperwork.
- Promoting retail sales.
- Collecting and maintaining accurate records.
- Making lifelong matches between customers and our pets.
- Providing information about the Humane Society of Charlotte’s policies and procedures and the animals in the shelters’ care.
What We Need From You
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and helping animals in our community
- Preferred: six months to one-year related experience and/or training
- Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats
- Ability to walk large dogs and lift up to 50lbs.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and educational.
- Computer literate in a Windows environment; proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
